Andrew Bennett
National Clinical Director MSK, NHS England
Andrew is National Clinical Director for Musculoskeletal Conditions for NHS England and Improvement, and a Consultant Physiotherapist at Sutton Health and Care Alliance, Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. He qualified in 2000 in Leeds, completing specialty training across London as well as a PGcert, PGdip and MSc. He led the successful re design of MSK local services presented nationally and internationally, is a lead for MSK transformation within the South West London Health and Care Partnership and acted an expert specialist for a variety of projects including the recent NIHR Moving Forward themed review.
Dr Ian Bernstein

Ian Bernstein FRCGP FLCOM MSc DMSMed trained first as a GP in 1992 and became a GP Trainer in 2002. Ian trained at the London College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 and completed his MSc in Osteopathy and Musculoskeletal medicine at University College London in 1999. Ian is the Clinical Director for Musculoskeletal Health at NHS England and NHS Improvement, London Region. Ian’s clinical role is as a musculoskeletal physician employed by Connect Health Ltd in the Herts Valleys Integrated Musculoskeletal Service, working in the community pain service. Ian took up a part time appointment as Director of Medical Education at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in May 2020. Ian was a member of the NICE Osteoarthritis, Low Back Pain and Sciatica, and Chronic Pain Guideline Committees, and is the chair of the NICE Head Injury and Neurorehabilitation Guideline Committees.
Ollie Coburn

of Sport Rehabilitators
Ollie Coburn is the Registrar and policy lead for the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT), overseeing the organisation’s function in registering and regulating Sport Rehabilitators. He is the secretary for the Accredited Registers Collaborative, the group of PSA Accredited Registers representing over 85,000 healthcare professionals in the UK, many of whom work in the independent sector. He also sits on a committee for the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy working to promote the profession of Sport Rehabilitation / Athletic Training internationally. Previously, he has held various roles as a musculoskeletal clinician in sport and the private sector and has worked as a case manager in PMI, most recently this included being the founder and director of a successful multidisciplinary private practice in Manchester. Ollie is a passionate advocate for his profession and the role that MSK clinicians of all backgrounds in the independent sector can play in contributing to population health.
Jane Ferreira
Head of MSK Together, Mid Notts Integrated Care Partnership
Jane graduated as a physiotherapist in 2004 and worked in the NHS for three years before joining the British Army. She served as physiotherapy officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps between 2007 and 2019. Roles included overseeing rehabilitation services at local base level including phase 1 RAF training establishment, as well as Regional roles co-ordinating primary care and secondary rehabilitation services for military personnel. During her career she served as the Officer Commanding for the Centre for Spinal rehabilitation at DMRC Headley court, and led the defence wide working group to deliver an outcome based best practice guideline for the management of low back in the military population. She was in charge of the spinal team when DMRC Headley Court relocated to Stanford Hall in 2018 and set up the spinal service at the new facility.
She deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 providing MSK rehabilitation within Camp Bastion’s field hospital to maximise operational capacity, provide assessment and triage at a forward operational base and deliver hospital based acute care to British, American and Danish military personnel as well as Afghan nationals.
She left the Army at the end of 2019 to re-join the NHS as Head of MSK Together, working to create the conditions in which continuous value improvement can occur, so that resources can be moved from lower value to higher value interventions and to adopt a personalised care approach optimising self-care and shared decision making.

Sarah Holden

Sarah Holden BSc(Hons), MPH, MBA has worked for the NHS and Local Government in Public Health services for over 20 years. She started her career in community engagement and service development working with patients with a range of co-morbidities to undertake safe and evidence-based physical activity. She stresses the importance of a holistic person-centred approach that considers the wider determinants evident from early work to address health inequalities.
Sarah’s Public Health leadership roles include development of weight management services, mental health and wellbeing, health trainer services, stop smoking, children and family services and social prescribing. Sarah is a qualified advanced exercise instructor and holds an honours degree in human movement science, a master’s degree in Public Health and a MBA.
In the past decade Sarah has been particularly focused upon public health leadership and change management, service integration and operational pathways optimisation. Her passion for seamless partnership and wider systems thinking remains a key focus to ensure services meet the local population need and improve health outcomes. In her spare time she enjoys quality family time, is a keen football supporter and plays badminton just for fun.
Claire Langley
Clinical lead for the Long Covid service,

Claire Langley is an Occupational Therapist by background. Claire is currently working in CLCH as a clinical Lead for the West Hertfordshire Long Covid Service.
Previous experience includes working as a therapy lead during the pandemic and working as a Practice development AHP. Having recently completed her Msc, with primary research on resilience for staff during the pandemic, Claire has a passion for both education and development of services in this area.
Craig Nikolic

Craig is Chief Operating Officer at a GP Federation in East London, most often seen these days around vaccination centres. Craig joined the NHS in 2014 following a career in the legal industry doing international mergers and demergers for 15 years.. Beyond that, Craig is an ex-serviceman who was medically discharged following significant musculoskeletal injuries, he is also a Chartered professional and qualified engineer.
Stephen Powis

Professor Stephen H. Powis BSc (Hons) BM BCh PhD MBA FRCP was previously Medical Director (and latterly Group Chief Medical Officer) of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust from 2006 to 2018. Professor Powis was also a member of the governing body of Merton Clinical Commissioning Group for five years and a Director of Healthcare Services Laboratories LLP. He is a past Chairman of the Association of UK Universities (AUKUH) Medical Directors Group and has been a member of numerous national committees and working groups, including the Department of Health Strategic Education Funding Expert Group. He is a past non-executive director of the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, including a period of eight months as acting chairman.
