Core Skills in Musculoskeletal Care Workshop

We are excited to be heading to Northern Ireland in March 2024 to deliver a full day Core Skills in Musculoskeletal Care interactive session, providing practical, hands-on learning and the opportunity to come together with peers to share knowledge and problem solving. This course is accredited by the RCGP and endorsed by the British Society for Rheumatology.
What will I learn?
The workshop is split into three main sections (example agenda):
- Low back pain and sciatica
- Lower limb (with a focus on the knee)
- Upper limb (with a focus on the shoulder)
What are the key learning outcomes?
- Identify the prevalence of MSK conditions in primary care.
- Gain confidence in taking an effective history from an MSK patient, including eliciting red flags and psychosocial flags.
- Demonstrate understanding of examination of the MSK patient, including the discriminating features of the examination.
- Practice explanation of the diagnosis.
- Formulate a management plan, including appropriate investigations, referral, safety net and follow-up.
- Signpost patients to useful information.
- Learn techniques to signpost to supported self-management

How much will it cost?
The cost of the course is £165. Included in the cost is a printed copy of the course handbook, a certificate, refreshments provided throughout the day and lunch provided in the hotel.
