BOA Annual Congress 2021 general registration now open

The BOA Annual Congress will take place 21-24 September 2021. The Congress programme will be created around the theme of ‘Tackling Infection’, with four days of lectures including three days of exhibition being held for the first time at P&J Live, The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA).

General registration closes on 5 September 2021 so make sure to book by then to get the best rates, after that a late registration fee will apply. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will no on-site registration this year. So please make sure to book by Friday 14 September. Sessions include:

  • Revalidation and hot topic sessions by specialist societies
  • The Presidential Guest Lecture from Professor Stephen Powis looking at COVID-19, Lessons and Challenges.
  • The Robert Jones Lecture from Sarah Muirhead-Allwood entitled ‘Joint Ventures’ focusing on the value and importance of orthopaedic surgeons collaborating with engineers and other scientific disciplines to further improve orthopaedics.
  • BOA Research Committee’s ‘Research for Optimising Orthopaedics’
  • The Naughton Dunn Lecture from our very own Honorary Secretary Simon Hodkinson
  • Trimming the structural ‘fat’: The carbon cost of over-design in bridges – Howard Steel
  • Robot Wars – an update on the new platforms delivering Robotic Orthopaedic Surgery – CAOS

New for 2021, delegates will need to register separately for all Friday sessions of the Congress. This enables the BOA to gain a better understanding of the delegates attending these sessions, informing development and content improvements for future years. You can either add a Friday session at the end of booking your Congress ticket, or register separately if you only wish to attend on Friday.
