During Orthopaedic Research U.K.’s popular online courses for paediatric orthopaedic physiotherapists, it became obvious that there was a lot of interest in the sub-specialties from clinicians with highly specialised caseloads. In response ORUK is launching the Specialty Series of intensive and focused online courses devoted to particular areas of clinical practice. The first online series was attended by physiotherapists with a particular interest in neurodisability, and received outstanding feedback. As a result, there are plans for two more online series in 2022: a summer course devoted to MSK paediatric physiotherapists and a winter course focused on paediatric feet.
The courses will present the evidence, discuss the controversies, challenge some preconceptions and explore how physios and surgeons can best work together as a team. The online format allows participants to make this course truly interactive, with challenging case discussions, quizzes to test your knowledge, polls, and plenty of opportunity to comment and ask questions. Master tutorials will also be provided by guest speakers, experts in their field, on an ad hoc basis in some of the individual webinars.
Podcasts on the topics of the selected webinars will be published online for all participants to have access prior to the course. By the end of the course, you will be confident in being up-to-date with the latest clinical concepts, red flags and referral criteria, as well as all the important national guidelines for children with MSK problems.
