NRAS JIA Awareness Week

13-17 June 2022

Less than a month to go – NRAS is running their first ever JIA Awareness Week. The campaign is all about #SameJIADifferentDay as it can be very frustrating for children, young people and even adults with JIA to keep explaining that JIA is a fluctuating condition, and some days are good, and some are bad. No two days are the same living with JIA.

Please do get involved throughout the week, by:

  • Share, like, retweet #SameJIADifferentDay posts, it makes a big difference
  • You can add a social media frame to your profile: NRAS has a ’JIA Awareness Week’ one and a ‘Wear Purple for JIA’ one.
  • You can create a video to explain what a good day and bad day looks like for you or explaining how each day is different. For example, on a good day being able to write and on a bad day not being able to hold a pen/pencil, on a good day being able to play football and a bad day struggling to walk. You can use the selfie frame/props to help you and a voiceover is fine. Please send them to jia@nras.org.uk via WeTransfer in an MP4 format.
  • You do not have to do a video; you can send your stories and photos to NRAS with or without the selfie frame/props to jia@nras.org.uk
  • Follow the NRAS Facebook, Twitter, Instagram accounts and the new NRAS TikTok account; be inspired to create your own using the hashtag #SameJIADifferentDay.
  • Remember to give consent for your photos and videos to be used by NRAS when you register for your pack, or you can receive a consent form via email once you have sent in your videos/photos.
