getUBetter proves a vital partner in supporting MSK waiting lists

As NHS services continue to navigate rising demand and resource challenges, getUBetter is proving to be a vital partner in enhancing MSK care and turning passive waiting lists into active ones. Recently deployed across Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) as part of the national Get It Right First Time (GIRFT) MSK improvement programme, the getUBetter app is already making an immediate impact.

In collaboration with NHFT’s MSK Physiotherapy team, getUBetter delivered a bespoke, fully branded digital self-management solution within only 4 weeks. The platform supports both routine waiting lists and referrals, empowering patients with evidence-based guidance to manage their musculoskeletal conditions safely while awaiting physiotherapy appointments.

“From the start, this has been an outstanding partnership,” said Samantha Nicolle, Service Manager at NHFT MSK Physiotherapy. “The app helps patients take ownership of their care and even helps us identify those who may need medical review. It’s a significant enhancement to the patient pathway.”

Within just days of launch, nearly 1,000 patients had engaged with the app, reducing pressure on clinical teams and enabling faster, more efficient triage and support.

“The success of this rapid 4-week deployment underscores the value of digital health solutions that can be integrated into existing pathways easily and without disruptions,” said Andrew Jones, getUBetter’s Project Manager. “We’re proud to support the healthcare system and the MSK community in Northamptonshire.”

getUBetter continues to support NHS in transforming patient care through scalable digital innovation, accelerating access to safe and effective self-management support.
