Psoriasis Awareness Week 2024 report

The Psoriasis Association sends a huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Psoriasis Awareness Week, which ran from October 28th to November 3rd. This year’s theme was ‘Community’ and highlighted the importance of connection and shared experiences.

What effect does RA have on your eyes?

Please join NRAS for their next online event on Wednesday 30th October 2024, 7pm. The subject for this month’s NRAS Live is eye complications in adults with RA and children with JIA.

Expect to learn some of the common eye-related issues people with rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis encounter, how to spot the symptoms, what to do if those symptoms arise, potential treatments and much, much more.

The PCRMM Online Conference 2024

PCRMM is delighted to invite you to their online conference on Saturday, 16th November 2024.

RA Awareness Week 2024: Stop the Stereotype

This year for Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week 2024 (16-22 September) the theme was #STOPtheStereotype, focusing on dispelling the frustrating stereotypes that surround this incurable, invisible condition. The 450,000 people living in the UK with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) face people making assumptions about their condition, hearing comments along the lines of ‘you look fine how can you be unwell?’, ‘you are far too young to have arthritis’, ‘it’s just your joints getting old?’ amongst many others. 

NRAS wants people to check their preconceptions about RA with their #STOPtheStereotype quiz.…

NRAS Live: Introduction to The Wren Project

NRAS LiveJoin NRAS on Wednesday 25th September at 7pm for a discussion on how NRAS and The Wren Project support those with autoimmune conditions.

The Wren Project is a fantastic initiative that offers listening support to people living with autoimmune diseases throughout the UK.

The discussion will be hosted by Sarah Watford, NRAS Support Service Manager and Amy Allen, Information and Support Coordinator – both of whom are part of the NRAS Information & Support team. The team will be joined by Kate Middleton (Wren Project Chief Executive) and a Wren volunteer, to talk about how they support people living with RA and other autoimmune diseases.…

Lupus Awareness Month 2024

posterOctober is Lupus Awareness Month in the UK, which plays a crucial role in increasing awareness and understanding of this chronic condition. The LUPUS UK campaign this year is #ThisIsLupus, which aims to raise awareness of lupus as a ‘dynamic disability,’ where an individual’s symptoms can vary in severity and impact over time. We also aim to highlight the unique experiences of those with lupus, as no two people share the same story.

During the month of October, LUPUS UK will be featuring lots of members of their community on social media platforms using the hashtags #ThisIsLupus and #LupusAwarenessMonth to raise awareness.…

NOA Annual Members’ Conference 2025

NOA logoThe National Orthopaedic Alliance will be holding its 4th NOA Annual Members Conference on 15 May 2025 at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (BCEC).

Clinicians and healthcare professionals from multi-disciplinary backgrounds within orthopaedics meet to discuss key challenges impacting musculoskeletal health and orthopaedic care. Attendees will gain insights into national solutions and initiatives, learn about developments within the NOA Membership and discover opportunities for collaboration and sharing of best practices. Psoriasis Update annual conference round up

On 22nd June 2024, The Psoriasis Association were delighted to host the ‘Psoriasis Update: What you need to know’ conference in Manchester. The day was highly successful and received positive feedback from attendees.

The morning session included talks from Dr Helen Young, Dr Zenas Yiu and research students Binh Phan and Heber Bright. Topics such as the impact of exercise on psoriasis and biologic treatments were discussed.

A fireside chat on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) was held by Russ Cowper, Psoriasis Association Trustee.…

ORUK to co-host MSK Innovation Forum

Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK) and the National Institute of for Health and Care Research (NIHR) are co- hosting an online MSK Innovation Forum on 19th July 2024, that will bring together clinicians, engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs to discuss the MSK innovation challenge.

During the forum the NIHR will present the results of a horizon scan identifying emerging MSK medical and digital health and care technologies from around the world. The event will also feature innovation case studies and the opportunity to share best practices and discuss challenges facing MSK innovators.…
