HMSA local groups update

HMSA local groups are still meeting virtually and this month’s theme is “Hobbies and Achievements”. It’s where the group get to share what they do for hobbies and explain how they overcome any obstacles with physical restrictions. It’s a bit of a ‘show and tell’ meeting and it’s always great to see how talented and inventive the participants are!

NOA Practical Pain Management in Orthopaedics webinar

On 7 April 2021 at 1pm, the NOA will host a webinar focused on Practical Pain Management in Orthopaedics. We will be joined by Sue Brown, CEO of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance who will highlight issues from the patient’s perspective. Diarmuid Denney from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will provide tips and tricks of therapy for joint pain. Foot Health Week 2021

Foot Health Week is approaching fast – 12-18 April 2021

The focus of FHW 2021 will be to highlight to the public that podiatry services are open and available for use.

There have been many changes in service provision as podiatry staff support the wider COVID-19 workforce to provide care in vaccination centres, wound care and nursing. As the roadmap to recover from the pandemic unfolds, podiatry services in MSK return to normal and podiatrists continue to work in rehabilitation and management of MSK health.…

PSA Annual Conference – save the date

The Psoriasis Association’s Annual Conference will take place on Saturday 19 June 2021.

The decision has been made to hold it online via Zoom, and it will be free to attend.
The Conference’s keynote speaker has been confirmed as Catherine Smith, Consultant Dermatologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and a leading expert in psoriasis.

BOA Annual Congress 2021 – abstracts now open

Under the theme of ‘Tackling Infection‘, the 2021 BOA Congress will take place 21–24 September 2021 at P&J Live, The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA).

In a slight change from previous years, BOA abstract submissions – including those from medical students – will open and close on the same dates; the BOA is pleased to announce that abstract submissions are now open and will close on Friday 7 May 2021.

Please note: you do not have to be a BOA member to submit an abstract.…
