‘Medicines in RA’ – new module launching in SMILE soon

SMILE-RA is a unique and engaging e-learning experience for people with RA and their families who want to understand more about RA, and its treatments. SMILE-RA has a modular approach to learning, so each module is on a particular theme or subject and takes between 20 mins and half an hour to complete.

There is an intuitive interface that makes it easy to use and navigate your way around. After registering and completing the Foundation module which includes baseline evaluation questions, you can then direct your own learning experience and choose whichever modules are of interest to explore next.…

Core Skills in Musculoskeletal Care course

Develop your knowledge and confidence to effectively manage your MSK patients, from diagnosis to treatment and ongoing management of their condition(s).

This online course is split into four two-hour sessions:

  1. Introduction to musculoskeletal conditions, osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis and fibromyalgia
  2. Low back pain and sciatica
  3. Lower limb (with emphasis on the knee)
  4. Upper limb (with emphasis on the shoulder)

Online Specialty Series for paediatric MSK physiotherapists

During Orthopaedic Research U.K.’s popular online courses for paediatric orthopaedic physiotherapists, it became obvious that there was a lot of interest in the sub-specialties from clinicians with highly specialised caseloads. In response ORUK is launching the Specialty Series of intensive and focused online courses devoted to particular areas of clinical practice. The first online series was attended by physiotherapists with a particular interest in neurodisability, and received outstanding feedback. As a result, there are plans for two more online series in 2022: a summer course devoted to MSK paediatric physiotherapists and a winter course focused on paediatric feet.…

Booking is now open for this course, which will be delivered online on the 5 March and 2 April 2022; it is aimed specifically at those preparing to sit the diploma and as such will be based around the diploma syllabus. Diploma in MSK Medicine exam

Registration is now open for the second sitting of FSEM’s Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine exam, aimed at doctors and allied health professionals looking to evidence their competency across the breadth of MSK care.

Developed jointly by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK) and the Primary Care Rheumatology & Musculoskeletal Medicine Society (PCRMM), the examination and associated qualification recognises excellence in MSK care and provides a benchmark of quality for both service commissioners and patients.

This Diploma will support evidencing competency as a GP or GP Working in Extended Role, as well as allied health professionals working towards advanced practice roles (including first contact practitioner and advanced practitioners in primary care) in a range of community settings.…
