UK Charity Arthritis Action has released its new three-year strategy setting out key objectives to improve daily life with arthritis for all, through self-management. The plan, which builds on its previous 2021-2023 strategy, highlights six key strategic priorities.

With a growing number of people affected by long-term MSK conditions, improving their quality of life has never been more important. Yet services are under increasing pressure, with lengthy backlogs, leaving many to believe our current models are unsustainable.
ARMA’s 2023 Annual Lecture, entitled Community Powered MSK, is set to take place on Tuesday, May 16th at 6pm. The event will be virtual and feature two distinguished speakers: Adam Lent, the Chief Executive of New Local, and Laura Finucane, a Consultant Physiotherapist and Clinical Director of Sussex MSK Partnership.

Over 20 million people in the UK experience musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as chronic musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But these do not affect the population equally. Women, older people, those living in deprivation, and some ethnic groups are disproportionately affected in terms of prevalence and impact. In addition, those with MSK conditions experience inequalities when it comes to accessing services and in outcomes.
