Cornwall Arthritis Trust, working in partnership with Artconnexion, have brought communities together to exchange knowledge about living with Arthritis and MSK conditions, as well as emphasising self-management, positive thinking, movement, creativity, and the importance of connecting.

The programme helps people discover what happens when you mix Creativity, Education and Movement – it’s a CEMical reaction of delight.

The ROS attends political party conferences

The Royal Osteoporosis Society recently attended the Labour and Conservative Party Conferences with a team of volunteers, attending over 40 fringe events to advocate for universal, high-quality Fracture Liaison Services (FLS).

At the Labour Conference, Health Secretary Wes Streeting reiterated his commitment to delivering universal FLS by 2030, praising ROS for building a strong case for secondary prevention.

Public Health Minister Andrew Gwynne also voiced his support for the Better Bones campaign for universal FLS, ensuring the issue remains high on the agenda ahead of the Budget.

Please join NRAS for their next online event on Wednesday 30th October 2024, 7pm. The subject for this month’s NRAS Live is eye complications in adults with RA and children with JIA.

Expect to learn some of the common eye-related issues people with rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis encounter, how to spot the symptoms, what to do if those symptoms arise, potential treatments and much, much more.

National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit Report

The National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit (NEIAA) State of the Nation Summary Report 2024 was published on 10 October 2024.

NEIAA is commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP) and is delivered by the British Society for Rheumatology.  

The audit aims to improve the quality of care for people living with inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease, and systemic vasculitis, collecting information on all adults with a new diagnosis in English and Welsh specialist rheumatology departments. …

RA Awareness Week 2024: Stop the Stereotype

This year for Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Week 2024 (16-22 September) the theme was #STOPtheStereotype, focusing on dispelling the frustrating stereotypes that surround this incurable, invisible condition. The 450,000 people living in the UK with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) face people making assumptions about their condition, hearing comments along the lines of ‘you look fine how can you be unwell?’, ‘you are far too young to have arthritis’, ‘it’s just your joints getting old?’ amongst many others.
