Warwick study of mental defeat in chronic pain (WITHIN study)

Do you have chronic pain?
Volunteers are needed to take part in psychological research which aims to help explain distress and disability in chronic pain.

The WITHIN Study is funded by the Medical Research Council and is investigating to what extent mental defeat explains variations in pain severity, distress, and disability in the long term in patients with chronic pain.

Outcomes data collection in orthopaedics

Outcomes data collection can mean different things to different people. It depends on the provider and how the data collection process is set up. Implementing patient-initiated follow-up in rheumatology

New guidance on implementing patient-initiated follow-up (PIFU) in adult rheumatology services is now available. For clinicians, service managers and commissioners the guidance will support the appropriate, safe and sustainable implementation and delivery of PIFU for people with rheumatological conditions who are under the care of adult rheumatology services.

Place-based partnerships report

The way NHS services are delivered is changing. Part of this is the development of place-based partnerships which will cover a geographical area smaller than an integrated care system (ICS). These will play a key role in integrating care and improving population health, which needs to happen more locally. The King’s Fund has produced a report on place-based partnerships to outline how this is happening and to provide local health and care leaders with a set of principles to support their approach to working at place.…

Whether it’s people’s behaviours around masks or hygiene, the contribution of volunteers to keeping people safe and connected, or partnerships with communities and their organisations to reach people who might otherwise lose out on services (such as the vaccine) – the NHS needs partners.
