Two sides of the same coin: inequalities in healthcare

ARMA is in the process of writing up the report of our inquiry into the impact of deprivation on MSK health inequalities. Of course, this is not the only factor that impacts on MSK health inequalities. Age, sex, ethnicity and a range of other factors intersect to give the highly unequal picture we see. So I was delighted to be invited to speak at a Kings Fund conference on women’s health.

NRAS Live: Importance of stress management for those with RA

NRAS conducted a recent survey investigating people’s experiences of stress and how it impacts on the onset and/or exacerbation of inflammatory symptoms. COVID Shielding Voices report

In October 2023 the COVID Shielding Voices report was published. Funded by Versus Arthritis and conducted by the Centre for Epidemiology at the University of Manchester, it is a research study about people with autoimmune inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, who shielded during the pandemic. The report has been shared with both the UK and Scottish COVID-19 inquiries.

The COVID Shielding Voices report captures the depth of people’s experiences of shielding during the pandemic and its long-lasting impact on them, their families, their mental health, and their working lives.…

Pain Concern is promoting the latest edition of their Airing Pain podcast: Airing Pain #139 Living With Persistent Pain in Wales.

It was recorded at the Living Well with Persistent Pain in Wales conference during Pain Awareness Month in September 2023. The topic of the conference was the launch of the refreshed persistent pain guidance first published in 2019.
