How the BCA honoured 100 years of the Association and inspired the future of chiropractic
The British Chiropractic Association’s (BCA) landmark conference, Chiro Live 2025: Celebrating Excellence, Shaping the Future, concluded earlier this month, leaving a profound and indelible mark on the profession. Held at the majestic De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor, the two-day event (November 14-15) was not just an annual gathering, but a historic celebration of the BCA’s 100th birthday. Attracting record numbers of delegates, exhibitors, and international guests, the conference was universally hailed as an overwhelming success, seamlessly blending cutting-edge clinical knowledge with transformative business insights and unforgettable celebratory moments.
Commenting on the event’s success, BCA President, Tim Button, said:
“Chiro Live 2025 was more than a conference; it was the jubilant culmination of a century of dedication, innovation, and trust. This event wasn’t just about celebrating the BCA’s 100th birthday – it was a powerful, tangible demonstration of the incredible future we are building together. From visionary talks and energetic breakout sessions to inspiring recognitions and awards, we have armed our profession with the cutting-edge evidence and business acumen needed to thrive. What Chiro Live 2025 has truly brought to the profession is a renewed sense of unity, a higher standard for clinical excellence, and the absolute conviction that some of our best work is still ahead of us”.
A programme of inspirational and clinical insight
The conference’s main stage boasted a truly stellar line-up, meticulously curated to provide both inspiration and evidence-based clinical knowledge. This year’s programme featured global leaders, inspiring personalities, and innovators whose insights challenged and broadened our perspective on chiropractic care.
Highlights included Dr William Morgan, President of Parker University and internationally recognised Chiropractor, who explored Kairos – the art of taking action at the right time – and the complexities of lumbar stenosis. Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, who joined us for a fireside chat on movement, mindset and living well, offering a fresh dimension to learning and professional growth.
Sharing about his experience at Chiro Live 2025, Dr William Morgan said: “It was a true joy to join you all for Chiro Live 2025, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Windsor and was genuinely touched by the hospitality and warmth shown throughout the event. My appreciation goes to the entire BCA team for the thoughtful planning, seamless coordination, and the spirit of excellence that made Chiro Live 2025 such a standout experience”.
We were also thrilled to be joined by Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, who shared lessons on resilience and reinvention from his extraordinary career, and Dr Edward Cambridge, whose evidence-driven approach to spinal assessment and the McGill Method continues to shape best practice across the world. Added to that, we had the legendary Ulrik Sandstrøm’s providing practical muscle testing techniques and BCA Past President, Michael Copland-Griffiths (1985 – 1987) bringing the BCA’s legacy to life in his unique and personal account of the Association’s milestones, challenges and defining moments as part of his Past, Present and Future session.
Dynamic Breakout Sessions Fuelling Practical Growth
A cornerstone of Chiro Live 2025’s success was the exceptional range of interactive breakout sessions and masterclasses, designed for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
The conference excelled in providing targeted, specialised education, allowing delegates to tailor their learning to specific areas of practice growth. The popular ‘MSK Through the Ages’ breakout session provided a comprehensive, full-lifecycle approach to patient care. A growing area of interest was addressed in our dedicated session on Animal Chiropractic. Led by experts from the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC), delegates had the unique opportunity to explore the anatomy, biomechanics, and specialised treatment approaches for animal patients.
Equally essential was the Non-Clinical Masterclass, a session vital for strengthening the foundational success of every practice. Tailored for receptionists, practice managers, and clinical assistants, the masterclass focused on enhancing patient communication, mastering efficient scheduling, and skillful conflict management, ensuring that the front-of-house team is as well-equipped as the clinician.
Balancing this professional drive was the Rejuvenate-Reflect-Restore session, which offered a vital space for attendees to focus on their own wellbeing, acknowledging the importance of self-care in a demanding career. The session’s highlight was the Silent Yoga with instructor Chet, using noise-cancelling headsets to guide focus inward and restore attendees’ energy, in combination with guided breathwork and gentle movement – a truly exceptional experience.
Celebrating Excellence: The 2025 Awards Recognitions
Chiro Live 2025 served as a platform for honouring deep dedication across the profession. The event recognised long-standing commitment and service through the presentation of multiple Long Service Member Awards, 3 Fellowships, 3 Honorary Memberships, 2 Lifetime Achievement Awards, 2 Research Poster Awards and 1 President’s Award. Huge congratulations to everyone for the well-deserved recognition.
BCA Excellence Awards
The event culminated on Saturday evening with the spectacular BCA Excellence Awards Gala Dinner. This unforgettable black-tie event served as the crowning glory of the 100th birthday celebrations. Delegates enjoyed an evening of fine dining, high- class live entertainment, and the most inspiring award presentations of the year.
The Excellence Awards truly put the spotlight on the dedication, innovation, and clinical excellence demonstrated across the profession. Awards were presented in categories recognising outstanding clinical practice, dedication to community service, and exceptional career start, offering powerful moments of recognition that celebrated individuals who are elevating the standard of chiropractic care in the UK. The atmosphere was electric and celebratory, providing a perfect conclusion to the educational schedule and reinforcing the sense of camaraderie that defines the BCA community.
