We wish all our readers seasons greetings and a happy New Year. MSK certainly has a higher profile now than it did at the start of 2024. There’s lots more to do in 2025.
To all those of you working across the Christmas Break – Thank you.
We hope all our readers get some time to relax between now and the New Year. We look forward to working with you throughout 2025.

ARMA responds to NHS 10-Year Plan Consultation
ARMA has submitted a response to the Government’s consultation on the NHS 10-Year Plan.
The submission was produced with ARMA members who gave their views in a series of meetings. The response calls for MSK conditions to have the long-overdue acknowledgment and equal footing alongside other long-term conditions and highlights the substantial impact that MSK conditions have on individuals' lives, the NHS and the wider economy.

This month the ARMA team was in Edinburgh for the launch of the Scottish summary of the Act Now report.
Thank you to our amazing panel and all who joined us at the launch event to discuss the report's findings, which highlight MSK health inequalities in Scotland.
The summary also offers key recommendations for healthcare professionals, services, and local health systems to address these disparities.

Collaboration produces new IHP
JIA@NRAS, Versus Arthritis and CCAA have all together produced a new updated Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) template for use in schools and with families. The template is specific to children/young people with paediatric rheumatological conditions. It contains plentiful tips and ideas to help support children and young people in school/college/nursery and covers all ages. Members may be interested to take a look and refer families / clinicians as appropriate.

Royal Osteoporosis Society thanks
The Royal Osteoporosis Society would like to thank all ARMA members for their vital support throughout 2024. Together, we secured a commitment from the UK government to roll out Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) across England by 2030, expanded FLS to all acute Health Boards in Wales alongside a commitment to high-quality osteoporosis care standards, and won a pledge from the Scottish government to conduct a national audit of FLSs.
We look forward to continuing to work together in 2025.

We know that many people value our newsletter, webinars and the fact that we provide a voice for MSK health. We are increasingly asked: given that our membership is made up of organisations, how can an individual support ARMA? For this reason, we have set up a new supporter scheme.
