Policy and public affairs assistant
Arthritis Research UK are looking for a highly skilled policy and public affairs assistant, to join our policy and public affairs team.
About the role:
You will be working within the external affairs directorate, where the policy and public affairs team has a vital role in driving forward the charity’s aim of achieving a tangible, positive change in the lives of people with arthritis by 2020. We seek to influence policy by identifying factors that must be changed, by Government or others, to make a positive difference in the quality of life of people with arthritis. We bring about change by influencing policymakers, through our public affairs work, and by engaging people who campaign with us.
It is an exciting time to join our growing team: our external engagement continues to increase, and Arthritis Research UK recently joined the Richmond Group of Charities. In 2016, we will continue to expand our policy remit and extend our influencing work into Scotland ahead of the election in May.
We are looking for an individual that has interest in and knowledge of public affairs, experience of working in a MP’s Office, policy or public affairs setting, or within the devolved nations and experience of managing and maintaining contacts databases.
Salary: £24,000 + benefits
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full time – 35 Per week
Closing date: Monday 2 May 2016
