NASS would like to highlight the successful outcomes of the ‘AS it is’ campaign, launched at the Senedd in March, to raise awareness of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and its impact on patients in Wales.
Janice Gregory AM hosted the reception, with speakers including Health Minister, Professor Mark Drakeford, Dr Zoe McLaren, consultant rheumatologist at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Debbie Cook, NASS Director, Grant Poiner, NASS Trustee, and Tudur Philips, S4C presenter and AS patient.
A short film made by Huw Irranca-Davies MP, expressing his support for NASS and the campaign and telling his own personal AS journey, was also broadcast.
NASS were delighted that 28 Assembly Members (almost half of all AMs) attended, including 7 Government Ministers (70% of the cabinet) and 1 Deputy Minister.
