Bishops Waltham 19th March 2014
The Portsmouth Support Group covers a wide geographical area and we have been told that some people have difficulty travelling to the city to attend meetings. Consequently, for several years we have been organising events in different parts of the region.
The latest of these was held in Bishops Waltham on Wednesday 19th March and was attended by 82 people, which justified it immediately.
There was a varied programme of talks covering medication, exercise, diet and falls-prevention, all of which prompted numerous questions from the audience.
The speakers included Dr. Steven Young-Min (Consultant Rheumatologist) who provided perspective on statistics; Colin Beevor (Rheumatology Matron) who spoke about the introduction of The Osteoporosis Personal Care Plan at Queen Alexandra Hospital; Mandy Finnegan (Clinical Nurse Specialist) who dealt with medication and Jill Phipps (S.E Hampshire Falls Prevention Coordinator) who got the audience exercising.
The complimentary lunch was provided by MCM special Occasions and earned a round of applause.
Our thanks are due to everyone who contributed to a very successful day.
