Cornwall is well known for its coastline, beaches and mixture of rugged countryside with wooded valleys, great gardens and wonderful vistas. Poldark county. A visitor’s paradise but it has all the problems of rural and coastal communities with an economic dependency on agriculture and tourism and a low pay economy. Economic hardship is not immediately obvious but there are Cornish estates that rank among the highest in the league tables for multiple deprivation, and it is one of only two regions of the UK that was eligible for special assistance from Brussels as a result of having incomes per head less than 75% of the EU average.…

Funding for three years came from the English NHS, and fortune had it that owing to lobbying from North West Wales professionals within ARMA, a Pilot ARMA Network Group was formed in March 2007. Physio First wins funding for development of EDI checklist for CSP Professional Networks

Physio First is one of the professional networks of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and represents private practitioners. They have been successful in gaining some funding from CSP to help them and other professional networks to identify barriers and challenges to producing their own individual Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policies. This successful funding bid has been achieved in conjunction with another of the CSP’s networks, who focus on diversity, the LGBTQIA+ network.…

Welcoming new members to ARMA

We are delighted to announce that the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA), one of four Professional Associations in the UK representing the chiropractic profession, has recently joined ARMA.

 

We are also delighted to welcome EQL as associate members. EQL’s Phio Access is a musculoskeletal (MSK) digital triage support tool that uses conversational artificial intelligence to guide patients through an initial assessment of their MSK condition.

New Executive Manager and continuing HMSA recruitment

Hannah Ensor (chair of the board of trustees) has been covering the CEO role for several months now, so Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA) is very pleased to welcome a new Executive Manager, Jane van Velsen, who will be taking on the management of the charity.

This role replaces that of CEO, and will mean managing the practical and operational side of the organisation. Jane has a lot of experience in charity management and is passionate about getting the hypermobile community the support it needs – from early diagnosis to appropriate long term advice and input.…
