Collaboration is for life

CEO update: Promoting MSK health
This month sees Bone and Joint Week and I am looking forward to cutting the ribbon at our virtual launch event and declaring the week open. It’s a week of celebration of the importance of musculoskeletal health and its role in enabling us to live independent healthy lives. It’s a chance of all of us to come together and celebrate the role we play in promoting good MSK health and support for those with MSK conditions. All of us, those living with MSK conditions, professionals and patient organisations must be partners if we are to realise ARMA’s vision.

Webinar - The role of patient organisations in rheumatology

The recently published GIRFT report on rheumatology makes a series of recommendations for changes which would improve patient experience and patient outcomes. ARMA believes that patient organisations could play a much greater role in supporting these changes than the report indicates. In this webinar, the chief executives of two patient organisations outline their vision of the place of patient organisations and how putting their organisations at the heart of the system can help deliver improved services and relieve the pressure on staff.

This webinar has been sponsored by AbbVie. AbbVie has had no input into the content of the webinar.

ARMA virtual conference 2021

Monday 6 December 2021
Following the success of our virtual conference last year, we will be running this one day event online.

Join us in December to hear from some great speakers on topics such as the impact of Long COVID on MSK services, the role of private practitioners in community MSK Health, Co-production: how to do it well, and the newly appointed National Clinical Specialist Advisor in MSK, Health Psychologist Chloe Stewart.

There will be two very different perspectives on prevention, from global and visionary to practical and local, as well as discussion of the role of place and ICS in MSK transformation.

Come to be inspired, to pick up new ideas you can apply in your work and to network with peers and leading policy makers. Recordings will be available afterwards if you can’t make the full day.

"Putting our backs into it…"
With an estimated 540 million people in the world suffering with low back pain at any one time, It remains one of the leading causes of years lived with disability, and the biggest single cause of disability on the planet today.

Back pain presents a major challenge to health systems and employers alike, and costs the NHS and the UK economy billions of pounds every year. It leaves those suffering with back injury in pain.
